Otis has the backing of the big man in charge in WWE.
The Heavy Machinery star captured a major win a couple of months ago at Money in the Bank when he won the briefcase, obviously capturing the faith of higher ups in WWE.
As reported on Fightful Select recently, both Otis and Tucker have made good impressions.
If you wondered who was behind the recent push of Otis, it probably shouldn't come as a surprise that the Heavy Machinery member is a personal favorite of Vince McMahon. Fightful Select has been told that Otis is a "total Vince McMahon project." We're told that his ascent to stardom on the brand was likely consistent with this, but that both Tucker and Otis had long made positive impressions in about any locker room they were in as well.
Many had speculated that Otis was a personal favorite of Vince McMahon based on mannerisms, but the push that followed helped cement it. Otis, Tucker, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose have all been absent from WWE in recent weeks, which coincides with WWE's COVID-19 testing. We've not heard if their hiatus' are related to that, creative, or injuries.
