Shorty G has rechristened himself Chad Gable.
After a quick loss on last week's Smackdown, Chad Gable revealed he would no longer use the Shorty G moniker in a backstage segment. As revealed on Fightful Select shortly after, this was already set to happen, and actually already had happened at one point.
On Smackdown, Chad Gable says that he "quit" being Shorty G. This was in the plans for several weeks, and WWE had actually filmed a segment weeks ago where he dropped the Shorty G gimmick. However, it ended up being cut due to time and was picked back up this week. The original segment featured Drew Gulak before he was officially moved to the Raw brand.
As the Shorty G character, Chad Gable had not won a match in WWE since June, and lost four matches in a row on Smackdown in four minutes or less. He adopted the moniker after a story with Baron Corbin just over a year ago.
