Daniel Bryan is getting another shot at "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and the Universal Championship.
In the main event of SmackDown, Bryan forced The Miz to submit in a triple threat match that also involved King Corbin. The win granted Bryan a title shot against Wyatt at the Royal Rumble, taking place on January 26.
The road to naming that number one contender for the Universal Title was a bumpy one that spanned the entire show. The match was supposed to kick off SmackDown, but Roman Reigns attacked Corbin, resulting in the match later being a one vs. one match between Bryan and Miz.
When Bryan and Miz had their match for a few minutes, Corbin's lackeys attacked both men and causing a double disqualification. After Bryan and Miz chased Corbin backstage, the match was reset into a triple threat match. Bryan unsuccessfully challenged for the Universal Championship at Survivor Series when he lost to "The Fiend."
