The 2021 MLW Opera Cup Finals are set!
On the November 25 episode of MLW FUSION, TJP and Calvin Tankman faced off for a spot in the finals of the 2021 Opera Cup. Awaiting one of the two men in the finals is Davey Richards, who already won his semi-finals match against Bobby Fish.
Calvin Tankman came into the bout with TJP despite his condition being less than 100% following a brutal attack from King Mo and Alex Kane a few weeks back.
The early part of tonight's match was controlled by TJP, though Tankman was able to use his size and strength to fight back. After TJP disappeared under the ring, Alex Kane walked out to ringside, distracting Tankman long enough for TJP to reappear, spit water in Tankman's face and regain the upper hand. After another referee distraction, Kane entered the ring and tossed Tankman into an exposed turnbuckle. From here, TJP was able to hit the Mamba Splash for the pin and win.
Richards' road to the finals also saw him go through Tom Lawlor, while TJP knocked off Alex Shelley in an earlier round.
TJP and Richards' finals match is set to air next week on FUSION.
