Finn Balor: Hiroshi Tanahashi Is A True Leader Who Inspired Me And Guided Me
Finn Balor reflects on his relationship with Hiroshi Tanahashi.
At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20, Hiroshi Tanahashi called it a career, competing in his final match against Kazuchika Okada.
While Finn Balor may not be immediately thought of as one of Tanahashi’s greatest rivals, the two did have multiple battles during Balor’s run as Prince Devitt in NJPW. On top of sharing the ring together, Balor established himself as the ace of the junior division while Tanahashi was the ace of the promotion.
On social media, Balor posted the following message following Tanahashi’s retirement:
I will never forget being star struck as a ‘young boy’ sitting next to
@tanahashi1_100 on the Njpw bus , only to be greeted by a gentle welcoming smile.
A true leader,
leading by example with unrivaled professionalism.
You inspired me, guided me, and pushed me to be better.
Thank you Senpai
and
Congratulations on an incredible career
