Finn Balor Shares That He Has Been Dealing With A Left Rotator Cuff Injury Since He Was 19 Years Old

Balor has battled this nagging injury since his teen years.

This coming Sunday at WWE's 32nd annual SummerSlam pay-per-view, former two-time Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor will clash with "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt in Wyatt's first televised match since August of 2018. It was reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet in July that Finn is set to take time off from WWE after SummerSlam and it was noted in the report that Balor is looking to recharge.

Balor has been competing at live events and on television since his return from injury in 2017 and throughout the wear and tear, Balor keeps his physique intact and was recently interviewed by GQ about his physique and workout regime. During the interview, the topic of Balor's SummerSlam match with Seth Rollins from 2016 was brought up and how Finn suffered a torn labrum during the match. Balor then revealed that he actually has been dealing with a left rotator cuff injury since he was 19 years old.

"A little known fact: I've been dogged by a left rotator cuff injury since I was 19. I've been coping with that my whole career, and then, of course, I completely destroyed the right shoulder. So pretty ironic that the shoulder that's been bugging me my whole career has now become the stronger shoulder. But I got to do my rehab with Kevin Wilk in Birmingham, Alabama and he taught me a lot about stabilization and different methods of fatiguing the joint without having to lift overhead." Balor explained. "So I won't ever do any overhead presses anymore. Everything will be nice and narrow. Really, it taught me how to train a lot smarter. I think, honestly, it's improved my physique in the last three years as a result of the accessory work and paying more attention to the details, as opposed to just going to that one-rep max bench press or big overhead press. Sometimes bringing it back to basics and working on the baby stuff is what's important."

Finn Balor has been taunted by "The Fiend" on WWE TV over the past several weeks and on the latest episode of RAW, WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle was the target of an attack by Bray Wyatt.
