Finn Bálor Shares That ‘Demonito’ Puppet Idea Came To Mind After He Watched Match Between Mr. Iguana & Santino Marella

Bálor details how the idea came about.

It was back in August 2025 at AAA’s Triplemanía XXXIII that a six-person tag team match took place involving the trios of Lola Vice, Mr. Iguana, and Niño Hamburguesa against The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor, J.D. McDonagh & Raquel Rodriguez).

During the bout, there was a moment between Bálor and Mr. Iguana where both pulled out their respective puppets to battle with one another. Iguana had La Yesca, and Bálor had ‘Demonito.’

While on the newest episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes, Bálor spoke about the spot with Mr. Iguana and how it came to fruition. He stated that he was doing research on Iguana in preparation for the match and came across a bout between Iguana and Santino Marella, which pitted La Yesca versus The Cobra.

“That’s a funny story. So I got told I was working against Iguana in AAA, and it was the first time I’d worked against someone who I wasn’t familiar with in a long time, and obviously, when you’re on the indies or when you’re in Japan, you kind of research your opponents and you come up with some ideas beforehand. But in WWE, it’s pretty much like you see everyone all the time. You kind of know all their stuff. So this is the first time that I hadn’t known someone that I was stepping in the ring with so I said, ‘Oh, I better do a little research,’ like I used to. So, I went on YouTube, and it was 20 past 4 in the afternoon, and I typed in ‘Iguana,’ or ‘Mr. Iguana,’ and the first match that came up was Mr. Iguana versus Santino (Marella). Cobra versus Iguana, and I said, ‘Damn, I need something like that,’ and then, like a lightning bolt, it hit me. ‘I need a Demon puppet.’”

Bálor and Iguana had another in-ring moment at AAA x WWE Worlds Collide in September 2025. Lola Vice and Iguana defeated Bálor and Roxanne Perez.
