Flip Gordon Comments On Who He Attributes His Ring Of Honor Popularity To

Flip Gordon gives credit where credit is due.

Throughout Ring Of Honor's massive surge in popularity in 2016-2018, many new stars were brought to the forefront of the company. One of those stars was Flip Gordon, who signed with the promotion in 2017. Shortly after signing, Gordon began to appear both on screen and off screen with ROH's most popular act at the time, The Elite. This would lead to Gordon becoming a popular figure among Ring Of Honor fans.

In a new interview with Sportskeeda, Gordon recalled that time period and gave credit to both The Elite and Bully Ray for helping him reach a high level of popularity.

“I think it was a handful of people. I think it was Bully Ray, I think it was The Elite, I think The Elite and Cody [Rhodes] really helped me. I think Being The Elite 100% helped me. I think just being in it at the right time with the right style and the right attitude, I think really took me a lot of places and the fact that people like The Elite and Bully took a liking to me and was like ‘Hey, this kid’s got something. I wanna work with him.’ That definitely helped me a lot and I learned so much from all of those guys.”

Earlier this year, Gordon became a free agent for the first time in his career after his contract with the old Ring Of Honor regime expired. Since then, Gordon has competed for companies like NWA and AAA.

The new Ring Of Honor regime is set to host the Final Battle pay-per-view this Saturday, December 10. To see the updated card for the pay-per-view, click here.
