Kota Ibushi did everything he could to try save Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door.

At AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door, Will Ospreay’s team would defeat The Death Riders and The Young Bucks to win the Lights Out Steel Cage match that closed the show. However, after Ospreay attempted to say goodbye to the fans, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli would assault Ospreay, dropping him on his neck repeatedly before wrapping a chair around his neck before stomping on it to close the show and write Ospreay off AEW television.

In the wake of the attack, fans have wondered what the babyfaces and Ospreay’s teammates were attempting to do to save Ospreay. Several fans pointed out that Wheeler Yuta was preventing them from climbing over with a kendo stick. However, Kota Ibushi would try two separate methods. First, he would try to punch through the locked door of the cage before sprinting and throwing his body at the locked door, leading to him ricocheting off the cage and onto the ground. You can check out the footage below.
