Former MCW Champion 'The Bruiser' RJ Meyer Passes Away

Fightful is sad to report that Independent wrestler and trainer RJ Meyer, better known to wrestling fans as "The Bruiser," has passed away following his battle with leukemia.

Meyer announced his leukemia diagnosis in March 2019.

Meyer was best known for his work in MCW Pro Wrestling, where he was a ten-time MCW Champion. He also held the Rage TV and Tag Team Championships. Meyer started wrestling in 1997 when he was trained by Axl Rotten and Corporal Punishment.

Meyer had been nicknamed the Mayor of MCW and in recent years, had worked as a trainer for the promotion's school, helping develop talents such as Lio Rush and Velveteen Dream.

On behalf of Fightful, we would like to extend our condolences to the family, friends, and fans of RJ Meyer.
