Former WWE Studios Directors The Soska Twins Ink First-Look Deal With Prospero Pictures

According to THR, Jen and Sylvia Soska have signed a first look deal with longtime David Cronenberg producer, Prospero Pictures.

The Soska Twins gained prominence with their 2012 slasher flick, American Mary, but are likely better known to wrestling fans for their work with WWE Studios. The sisters directed 2014's See No Evil 2 with Glenn Jacobs (Kane) and 2015's Vendetta with Paul Wight (Big Show).

Martin Katz, who runs the Canadian outfit along with executive producer Karen Wookey, issued a statement following the signing:

"The Soska sisters have set a new standard for female-driven genre filmmaking and we are so excited to be in business with them for the long-haul."

Katz's producer credits include Hotel Rwanda, Maps to the Stars, A Dangerous Method, and Cosmopolis. When asked about working with Prospero, Jen and Sylvia said that they "viscerally understands the kind of elevated genre we’ve been making all our lives."

In addition to their work with WWE Studios, the sisters have also written for Marvel Comics, which saw them first published in an issue of 2015’s Secret Wars Journal miniseries. They are currently in post-production on a remake of Rabid, David Cronenberg's 1977 zombie-filled body horror. The film is poised to hit the festival circuit later this year.
