Frank Grillo Admits He Didn’t Know Who John Cena Was Before ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2, ‘I Asked My Son, He Said ‘You’re Stupid”

Frank Grillo joined the cast of “Peacemaker” season two, playing the role of Rick Flag Sr. He joined John Cena, who stars as Peacemaker, in the series.

Speaking to Derek Lawrence of GQ, Grillo admitted he didn’t know who Cena was before he joined the series.

“I had never seen ‘Peacemaker.’ I didn’t know who the f—k John Cena was,” Grillo revealed. In order to learn more, he turned to someone who did. “I asked my son, ‘Is John Cena a big wrestler?’” Grillo recalled. “He goes, ‘You’re stupid.’”

While speaking to former UFC champion Matt Serra, Grillo recalled Cena paying for his dinner during his first day on set and welcoming him to the team. You can find his comments here.

In the wrestling ring, Cena will have one of his final match at WWE Clash in Paris against Logan Paul on August 31st.
