Tyson Fury's co-promoter speaks.
On Friday it was announced that heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury would step inside the ring at WWE Crown Jewel to battle Braun Strowman. Fury first appeared on WWE television on the Oct. 4 episode of SmackDown, getting into a fun staredown with Strowman before things turned serious as Strowman launched Dolph Ziggler into Fury, knocking the boxing star back into his seat. On Monday's Raw, Fury and Strowman brawled in the ring before being separated by security and other WWE superstars.
Speaking to Metro UK, Fury's co-promoter Frank Warren revealed his concerns with Fury competing in WWE.
"His profile gets bigger every time and he?s doing us promoters a real favour by going on WWE. But truthfully, I don?t like the risk of his cut opening up. Tyson?s a law unto himself. It?s risky though, no doubt about that. In an ideal world I?d prefer he didn?t do it, but it?s all about the bigger picture for him. He?s a natural wrestling star. I?m still awaiting the call from Tyson to tell me he?s finished with this WWE stuff."
Though Warren has his concerns, he admitted Fury "loves" appearing on WWE television.
While nothing is official, Fury's team his hoping to get him back in the ring in February 2020 for a rematch against Deontay Wilder. Fury and Wilder fought to a draw in December 2018. 'The Gypsy King' is currently under medical suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission until Nov. 14 as a result of cuts suffered in his Sept. 14 bout against Otto Wallin.
