Frankie Kazarian Reveals Kurt Angle’s Favorite Tag Match Of All Time
Frankie Kazarian discusses TNA Slammiversary X.
The pay-per-view, which took place in 2012, was littered with top stars like Sting, Bobby Roode, Jeff Hardy, Rob Van Dam, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and Gail KIm.
The show also featured a tag team match that pitted Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian against the duo of AJ Styles and Kurt Angle. The match was highly praised, receiving a 4 1/4 star rating from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Speaking with Fightful for a new interview, Kazarian reflected on the contest, claiming that Kurt Angle has said its his favorite tag match ever.
“I think Kurt has actually gone on record saying that’s his favorite tag match ever. For Kurt Angle to say that, looking at his career, is mind numbing to me. Very humbling. Myself and CD were firing on us to that point as a team, and then you got you throw an AJ and Kurt Angle. We would have had to work our asses off to not have a great match. That’s how good those two guys are and it was just one of those [things where] we all think very much alike. We all for work for the match instead of the individual. That was just one of those nights from the get go. I was like, ‘We got him, this is good, we’re rolling.’ It was just one of those [times where] everything clicks and when it works, it works. Again, that’s a testament to all three of those gentlemen for being unselfish in a very selfish business. That was a very magical night. Again, for somebody to have that on my resume and somebody like Kurt Angle to say that is his favorite tag team match and I’m a part of it. Again, tell 10 year old me that, 12 year old me that, that’s pretty unbelievable, man.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Kazarian reflected on his storied history with ladder matches. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
