Fred Rosser (Darren Young): If WWE Called Me Now, I Would Be Ready. I Stay Ready

Fred Rosser, formerly Darren Young in WWE, commented on his time in the Nexus and his potential return to the company.

The Nexus was the top WWE heel faction in the summer of 2010. Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel (PJ Black), Michael Tarver, Skip Sheffield (Ryback), David Otunga, and Darren Young (Fred Rosser) were all given a taste of main event success, headlining WWE SummerSlam that year. Ultimately, that iteration of the group would not last, and everyone would go on to do their own thing.

Fred Rosser is now best known for his time in NJPW, but during a recent interview with Pro Wrestling Culture, he explained that he's still in contact with the Nexus members, as they have a group chat. While people always ask whether or not the group will reunite on TV, Rosser says he's confident that if WWE gave him the call today, he would be ready to go back because these days, he's ready.

"The Nexus was a lot of fun for me. It was my big break with WWE. I did my thing as a group with the Nexus. I did my thing as a Prime Time Player. I did my thing with Bob Backlund. But the Nexus was so much fun, really, out of all the original Nexus members, I'm kind of the only one still actively, still actively wrestling, and I was the youngest member of the Nexus, you know, I'm 41, you know? To me, that's old. I say all the time, I still have a lot left to offer. I still have a lot left in the tank. People ask me, 'Do I still talk to them?' I do still. We've got a text thread. So we always talk about, 'Oh, when are we going to do a comeback again?' We can't control that. That's the machine, WWE, but I know if they called me now, I would be ready, because I stay ready."

Wade Barrett is the only member of the original Nexus currently employed by WWE. He is now a color commentator on WWE Friday Night SmackDown. He hasn't ruled out a one-off return to the ring. Learn more here.
