The May 14 edition of AEW Dynamite was headlined by a huge steel cage match, with Jon Moxley defending the AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe inside of the sinister structure.

Near the end of the match, things got dire for Moxley, as Powerhouse Hobbs and Willow Nightingale helped take out the rest of the Death Riders. Just when it looked like Joe could win, Gabe Kidd appeared at ringside and slid a briefcase inside of the cage.

Moxley used the briefcase to his advantage, smashing Joe in the face with it. Naturally, Moxley proceeded to pin Joe to score the win.

After the match, the Young Bucks came to the ring to celebrate with Moxley and Kidd. Kenny Omega tried to hit the ring, but Kazuchika Okada attacked him from behind. Okada rolled Omega in the ring, prompting the Bucks to lower the steel cage that had already been raised. More chaos ensued, with everybody beating down on Omega and Joe.

Swerve Strickland came to the rescue, climbing up the cage and diving on everyone. The cage was quickly raised up again, allowing the Death Riders and The Elite to retreat. Surrounded by Willow Nightingale, Powerhouse Hobbs, Kenny Omega, and Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland ended the show by challenging the opposing side to an Anarchy In The Arena match at Double Or Nothing.
