Gabe Kidd Issues Challenge To Andrade El Idolo For NJPW Road To The New Beginning, Winner Faces Yota Tsuji

Gabe wants to go through Andrade to get the title back.

The day after Wrestle Kingdom 20, New Japan Pro-Wrestling presented the 2026 installment of New Year Dash. On the billing was a six-man tag team match that saw United Empire (Andrade El Idolo, Francesco Akira & Jakob Austin Young) versus Clark Connors, Hiromu Takahashi and Gabe Kidd.

Andrade put Connors away to secure the win for his team. Post-match, there was an altercation that led to a fight involving Andrade and Kidd.

Kidd took the microphone and expressed that he wants the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship back, which is in Yota Tsuji’s possession, who is also the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

Kidd wants to go through Andrade to get the belt back, so he issued a challenge to Andrade for the February 11th Road to The New Beginning show in Osaka to determine who gets the Global Heavyweight Title shot.
