Gage speaks about his father's final match.
It is being billed that at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12th in Atlanta, Georgia, Goldberg is going to have his final match.
He'll be challenging GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship. Ahead of the bout, Bill Apter of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge pushed out an interview with Goldberg's son, Gage Goldberg.
Gage believes that regardless of whether his father wins or loses at Saturday Night's Main Event, he'll get the itch to wrestle again.
“That one I couldn’t even tell ya (Gage responded when asked if his father defeating GUNTHER could encourage him to continue wrestling) … I wish I had his confidence 100 percent because he has -- anything could happen to him and it just would go right over his head. He’s still confident as ever, and win or lose, he’s going to get the itch again that he wants to stay in the ring.”
A sit-down interview with Goldberg aired on the 6/23 Monday Night Raw. Gage was asked if his father keeps up with the weekly product and said they barely watch.
“No (my dad does not keep track of the weekly WWE product), not at all. We barely watch.”
As for Gage, he's playing linebacker at the University of Colorado. He stated that playing pro football is his priority, but WWE is his backup plan.
“It’s there. It’s a backup plan for sure. Football is the first priority 100 percent… Football is my main plan. WWE is the backup plan, 100 percent.”
Gage will be present at Saturday Night's Main Event for his father's match against GUNTHER. He was also ringside in October 2024 at Bad Blood when GUNTHER and Goldberg first crossed paths.
