Gail Kim Reiterates She Was Only Contacted By AEW About The Possibility Of Wrestling
Gail Kim once again clarifies the contact she had with AEW.
After Kim made headlines on social media for giving her thoughts on Riho, BJ Bethal, reported, “In the least breaking news, Gail Kim contacted several people about an opportunity at AEW at some point, longer than a couple weeks ago. No one reached out to her.”
Kim responded, saying, “I got one text from AEW when I was terminated from TNA. It was from Sonjay and inquiring more about whether I wanted to wrestle. I’m retired. End of story.”
Appearing on Massive Heat, Kim offered further clarity.
“For you to blatantly lie like that. I would love to see the proof. Bring the proof. I have the proof of the text exchange that I had when I got fired from TNA, with AEW contacting me. It was very brief. A quick text from Sonjay (Dutt) just asking me if I was thinking about wrestling. I said, ‘I’m retired.’ I wasn’t interested in that. I’m retired. Why lie? It’s mind-blowing to me,” stated Kim.
Kim last wrestled in 2023. She retired as a full-time performer in 2017. She was fired by TNA, where she was working in a backstage capacity, in March.
