GCW fights back.

On December 15, WWE applied to trademark "The Collective" for wrestling exhibitions and performances.

Obviously, this upset some folks who work with and are fans of Game Changer Wrestling because that brand has used “The Collective” for major events in the past. Following the trademark, GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale told Sean Ross Sapp that “everything would be okay.” Now, it appears that GCW has filed its own trademark on the term as of December 21.

The following description was given:

IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Organizing conventions for professional wrestling and sports entertainment; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network

GCW used the event name "The Collective" to brand a series of Independent events that have taken place across one weekend. GCW typically holds its Collective event during WrestleMania weekend, though the most recent Collective was held in October due to COVID-19 canceling WrestleMania events.
