GCW Gives Statement On Arik Cannon-Avery Styles Situation

Over the weekend, Arik Cannon claimed that Avery Styles didn’t help set up chairs at the GCW event in Minnesota.
In response to Natalya saying in an interview that Avery wanted to pay his dues, Cannon wrote, “As someone who watched this kid skirt away from helping with a single thing at this very show…I’d just like to say: L O F’ING L !”
Avery’s dad AJ Styles responded, saying Avery was brought in to wrestle, not help with the ring.
Cannon would later say, “A 20+ year vet & promoter asked him to help w/ the chairs. TWICE! Instead of helping, he hid in the locker room until everything was done. My 2 cents isn’t going to affect his future… But with all due respect, you stating he doesn’t need to help is only doing him a disservice.”
GCW issued the following statement to the Wrestling Observer:
“Regarding the AJ Styles and Avery Styles comments, GCW has contacted us to say that while they respect and like Arik Cannon, he does not speak for GCW, he speaks for himself.”
Cannon runs F1RST Wrestling in Minnesota.
Avery has yet to comment on the matter.
