Goldberg On Criticism Following Universal Title Win: "I’d Love To See Them Do It At Any Age"

Plenty of people were not happy with Goldberg’s Universal Champion win over Bray Wyatt at Super ShowDown and the new champion has now responded to those criticisms.

After Goldberg captured the Universal Championship on February 27, a number of people voiced their displeasure of the match and the show, including actor Macauley Culkin. Goldberg appeared on the most recent episode of WWE’s The Bump and said he would love to see anyone else do what he does, especially at his age.

“I’m Goldberg. I don’t know how else to answer that. I’d love to see them do it at any age, let alone 53. I answered a phone call and I did whatever I could do to get ready in a short period of time and provide a little bit of Goldberg out there. Fortunately, I was able to do it and I’m just looking forward to the next one because I get four weeks instead of three to prep for this one,” Goldberg said.

The “next one” that Goldberg referenced was his upcoming match Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36 on April 5. The match was made official the day after Super ShowDown and will be one of several title matches confirmed for the event.
