Goldberg: WWE Crown Jewel Performance Shut These F*ckers Up Finally

Goldberg returned to the ring at WWE Crown Jewel, defeating Bobby Lashley in a no holds barred match.

The bout ended with Goldberg hitting a spear off the ramp and through a set of tables below. Goldberg's returns to WWE, especially his Saudi Arabia matches, have often been criticized as his performances haven't been good.

Speaking on his CarCast podcast, Goldberg reflected on the bout against Lashley.

"I don't have the best track record in Saudi Arabia. I've knocked myself out, I've dropped the Undertaker on his head. I needed to redeem myself. I'm not happy with my performance, but I'm satisfied with it to a point where I think it shut all these fuckers up, finally," he said.

Speaking about his knee injury and relationship with Lashley, Goldberg said, "The knee hurt, it is what it is. The fact is, I hurt every day in my life. It's just all relative. My brace held up well, fortunately. He went after my knee again. It is what it is. I dropped the hammer on his ass at the end. If you want to know about me and Bobby behind the scenes, let's just say that Gage Goldberg is Wanda and I's son and there is no frickin way that I would let anyone on this planet touch him if I didn't love and trust him. Bobby is a great individual and I wanted for years to be able to have a program with him. I'm just honored that he let me do it. It was fun. Getting some payback and kicking his ass in the end was icing on top of the cake."

WWE has made multiple trips to Saudi Arabia over the years as part of their 10-year-deal with the Saudi General Sports Authority. The trips are often criticized due to Saudi's treatment of women, the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, and more.

Goldberg said about the trip, "It was different. It was my third, fourth time in Saudi. Every time we go, there's seemingly a cloud of negativity. I gotta tell you, from the first trip to the last trip, what the Crown Prince is trying to do and actually doing is moving the country ahead exponentially. I don't want to say it's Westernizing, but it's Westernizing. It's truly giving them freedom. Just the difference in women's presentation from WWE from the first show to this last show, they didn't even let them wrestle on the first one. They didn't even have to cover up most of the time on this last trip. Whether it's Pitbull at the night before or 700,000 people at this festival the night before or us going in twice a year, they're really doing cutting edge stuff and bringing in entertainment throughout the world and it's an honorable gesture, I believe, and I think it's making the Middle East move in the right direction. We catch a lot of shit for going over there, but as far as I'm concerned, we're part of the revolution and I think it's doing wonders for the region. It was a completely different experience from the first time."

Coming out of the match with Lashley, Goldberg has said that he had one year left on his WWE contract. You can find his full comments by clicking here.

It is unknown when Goldberg will return to the ring.
