Grado says that Drew McIntyre stole his move.
Following using the Future Shock DDT as his finish for several years, McIntyre would change up his finishing move following his initial release, utilizing the Claymore kick. Now, McIntyre has been accused of stealing the move by an old friend.
While speaking on Hey! (EW), Grado was asked by RJ City about being trained by Drew McIntyre and how he doesn’t wrestle like him. This led to Grado noting that McIntyre stole his move.
“No, he actually stole my move. So I have a move called the wee boot. So it’s like a Yakuza kick. Remember Trent Acid and all that used to do? Yakuza kick, right? It’s basically a big boot except it’s wee, and I’ve done that for years. Then he gets released from WWE, and then just out of the blue, he starts using my finish.”
Grado would then continue, reminding viewers (and RJ) that he had previously defeated Drew McIntyre.
“Do you know what’s funny about that? I beat Drew McIntyre in 2015 for the ICW World Heavyweight title, right? He went on to be a Hollywood movie star, the World Heavyweight Champion. I went on to advertise breakfast rolls on the radio. How does that work out?”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Grado discussed almost singing ‘Like A Prayer’ at Wembley stadium at AEW All In 2023. You can read more about that here.
