GUNTHER Addresses Those Who Feel He Is Not Ideal Final Opponent For John Cena, Wishes He Got In-Ring Promo With Cena

GUNTHER addresses the critics.

The final match of 17-time WWE World Champion John Cena’s in-ring career is taking place at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th. His opponent will be GUNTHER.

GUNTHER sat down with New York Post Sports to discuss the match and responded to those who feel he is not the ideal opponent for Cena’s final match. GUNTHER went on to add that he wishes he could’ve had an in-ring segment with Cena to duel on the microphone ahead of the match.

“I’m not bothered. I went out on Raw on Monday to send a few words towards him as the only chance I had, and I could feel that energy from the audience where it’s kind of like they don’t want me to stand there and claim that for me. But I enjoyed it. I think that’s great. That’s what I’m here for, to antagonize people and if they are antagonized which they seem to be, then I succeeded and I thrive off that.” GUNTHER was then asked if he wished he could get in-ring promo with Cena, and he replied,Oh yeah, for sure. I mean, he’s like maybe the best on the mic to ever do it or one of the best. People can argue whatever they want about those things but he’s definitely in the top category. So it would have been good for experience-wise to get the chance. Didn’t work out. It’s fine. It is what it is. I’m more focused on the match anyway.”
