GUNTHER Chokes Out Goldberg In His Retirement Match At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Goldberg ends his career in his adopted hometown.

The final match of Bill Goldberg’s in-ring career took place in his adopted hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, with his family and friends in attendance.

He challenged GUNTHER for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Highlights from the match include Goldberg setting the champion up for a spear, but GUNTHER side-stepped him and Goldberg speared referee Charles Robinson.

GUNTHER made his way over to ringside where Goldberg’s wife, Wanda Ferraton, and son, Gage, were seated. GUNTHER shoved Gage, and Gage hopped over the barricade, but security stopped him. When GUNTHER made his way back into the ring, he was speared and then given a Jackhammer. A new referee had to make his way into the ring, so Goldberg only got a two-count.

The conclusion of the bout saw GUNTHER choke Goldberg out to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

What was billed as Goldberg’s final match clocked out at 14 minutes and 18 seconds. Goldberg was joined in the ring by family and friends afterwards to give a speech.
