Gunther Comments On The Possibility Of Imperium Adding New Members

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

That's the mentality of WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther as it relates to his faction, Imperium. The trio (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, & Giovanni Vinci) have been a dominant force in WWE since joining forces in mid-2019, holding titles in NXT, NXT UK, and now on WWE's main roster.

Joining Steve Fall on Ten Count, Gunther commented on the possibility of Imperium adding another member, saying that it's good how it is.

"No, I think it's perfect how it is. I'm a big believer in 'never change a running system.' I think too much in and out can water a group down a little bit. We're all together for a reason, nothing's random. We are all tightly connected in our private lives too, especially with Kaiser. Our careers went the same way since we started. There's a history of that group a long time before WWE, so it's something that was just authentically there. As of right now, I feel like it's good how it is," he said.

Gunther and Kaiser teamed together prior to signing with WWE as members of a stable called Ringkampf that worked for various promotions across Europe. In WWE, Imperium also used to feature Alexander Wolfe, though he departed from the company in May 2021.

On June 10, Gunther reached the one mark as WWE Intercontinental Champion. If he can hold the title until September 8, 2023, he will officially surpass The Honky Tonk Man's longest-reigning Intercontinental Championship run from 1987-1988.

Imperium are currently part of the Raw brand and have been feuding with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Matt Riddle. Fightful provides live coverage of Raw every Monday, followed by a post-show review on our YouTube channel.
