Gunther Doesn't Feel A Redesign Of The WWE Intercontinental Title Is Necessary

Gunther isn't looking to have a redesign of his WWE Intercontinental Championship any time soon.

In recent weeks, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Asuka, and Rhea Ripley have received new championship belts.

Roman Reigns was handed a new WWE Undisputed Championship belt to commemorate 1,000 days as WWE Universal Champion. Asuka was awarded a white-strapped variation of Roman's belt, marking her new status as WWE Women's Champion. At WWE Night of Champions, Seth Rollins won the new World Heavyweight Championship, and weeks later, Rhea Ripley was awarded a Women's World Title, a white-strapped counterpart of the belt Seth Rollins won.

Gunther is still carrying around the same WWE Intercontinental Championship that was introduced in November 2019, and he says that he's not looking to have the title changed anytime soon.

“I’m fine with the one I got,” Gunther told Steve Fall of WrestlingNewsCo. “I personally always liked the old design, with the white strap. Things have to develop, and things have to move forward. I think it’s just personal taste. I’m very pleased with how it looks right now.”

Elsewhere in this interview, Gunther explains why now is not the time for him to step into the ring with Roman Reigns. Read more here.

Gunther also recently commented on the chance he has a breaking Honky Tonk Man's historic run as the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time. Read more here.
