Gunther: I Always Hated Seeing John Cena In Jorts On TV

Gunther is set to challenge John Cena in Cena’s last match on Saturday, December 13th. Gunther has already established himself as one of the dominant forces in WWE as a former World Heavyweight Champion and the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion.

While many of Cena’s peers have spent the past year praising him and sharing their memories, Gunther has no affinity for his opponent on Saturday.

“I can only speak for myself. I haven’t really — I’ve shook hands with him twice. I haven’t had any other interactions with him otherwise. I just remember when I started wrestling, 20 years ago now, I remember that I hated the guy in jorts on TV week by week and I always thought it doesn’t belong in the ring. I’m a big purist and traditionalist. John Cena is definitely the greatest sports entertainer of all time, but I’m the greatest pro wrestler right now. That’s going to be the conflict,” said Gunther on ESPN.

Gunther has promised to make Cena give up on Saturday in his final match.
