Gunther: I'm Not Sure The Man Who Will Beat Me Has Arrived In WWE

Gunther's WWE Intercontinental Championship reign continued at WrestleMania 39 when he defeated Drew McIntyre and Sheamus in a triple threat bout.

Gunther has now been WWE Intercontinental Champion for nearly 300 days and he isn't sure the man to dethrone him is currently in WWE.

"That we shall see," he told Ryan Satin of Fox Sports following WrestleMania 39 when asked what was next for him. "[WrestleMania] was my focus, let's see what happens on SmackDown. I guess I'll see who is next in line. I'm fairly confident. I'm not sure if the man who is going to be able to beat me if he's arrived here already. Everybody go out and find him."

Gunther vs. Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre was heralded as one of the best matches of the week and Gunther retained after he powerbombed Sheamus onto McIntyre.

Asked if he was happy with how the match went, result aside, Gunther said, "Not too worried about that. My mission was to go in there and represent our sport, Imperium, and this title in the best way possible. I achieved that today. I'm satisfied with it."

Gunther pinned McIntyre after the powerbomb.
