Gunther discusses wanting to remain a heel for the rest of his pro wrestling career, noting that he enjoys being ‘the disruptor’.
Since making his WWE debut several years back, the Austrian pro wrestler has been a heel throughout his run in the company, drawing heat as of late by retiring and defeating some of the audiences biggest favorites. For ‘The Ring General’ he is in rush to be a babyface, noting that he enjoys being the disruptor.
While speaking to the Club 520 podcast in a new interview, Gunther spoke about being a heel and if he wants to hear cheers while he’s performing.
“As long as it’s a reaction, I’m fine. I’m kind of proud of that. I can commit to being hated. I’m cool with that. I think a lot of guys struggle with that, that there’s no positive response. I really like it. I like to be the disruptor, and, yeah, I try to stick with that for the rest of my career, to be honest. If somebody else can be the superhero, that’s fine for me.”
On a potential future face turn, ‘The Ring General’ noted that he wasn’t gonna force one.
“Maybe the day will come. Maybe it will shift at some point, but I’m not going to force it.”
Elsewhere in another recent interview, Gunther spoke about his match with AJ Styles topping his match with John Cena. You can read more about that here.
