Hamilton standby actor John Devereaux is also a wrestling fan, and he sneaks wrestling references into his performances when given the opportunity.
In the past, EFFY described professional wrestling matches as one-act plays. With all of the theatrics and character development involved, it should be no surprise that actual performers are fans of the medium. John Devereaux is currently a standby actor on tour with Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton show and shared on Instagram how he tries to work in wrestling references when he can.
The references can sometimes include saying "Are you ready?!" like Triple H when playing George Washington, or strutting like Ric Flair. The other two members of Evolution are represented well. Occasionally, when playing Hercules Mulligan, he will do Batista's Machine Gun taunt. He's also recently worked in references to CM Punk and occasionally hits the Randy Orton pose when walking down the stairs.
