January 5 marks the TBS debut of AEW Dynamite as the program moves from TBS.

In a promo segment after the announcement, Danielson proposed that the rematch would have judges in case the bout goes to a draw once again. Hangman said he thought of different match types as well, including an Inferno match, but agreed to Danielson's proposal of having judges.

Danielson and Hangman battled to a 60-minute draw at AEW Winter is Coming. The time expired just after Hangman hit Danielson with the Buckshot Lariat with the bell ringing before he could make the cover. Danielson earned his AEW World Title match by winning the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament, defeating Miro in the finals.

After the 60-minute draw, Tony Khan stated Danielson was still the number one contender, which set up the rematch.

Here is the current lineup for the January 5 episode of AEW Dynamite.
