HENARE wants to take the NEVER Openweight Championship all over the world.
At NJPW Dominion, HENARE will challenge Shingo Takagi for the NEVER Openweight Championship. This will be HENARE's first time competing in a singles match since suffering a head injury back in February. If HENARE is able to take the gold from Takagi, it will mark the start of his first championship reign in NJPW.
While speaking to New Japan for a one-on-one interview, HENARE said that the NEVER Openweight Championship currently has more mana than the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
"To defend it. Once I win the NEVER title, with every person I beat to defend it, the mana goes up, the respect goes up. I’ll say this right now, the NEVER Championship has more mana than the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. I’ll take that mana. I saw this happening years ago and it pissed me off. People asked me why I was angry all the time and can you blame me sitting on the outside and watching this happen? Last year showed me I had the potential (to be a champion), but things won’t change until I (take the title). I’ll take it to New Zealand, take it through Oceania, America, UK, anywhere and expand that mana, Uganda even."
