At the March 12 NJPW New Japan Cup event, Hirooki Goto and Tama Tonga advanced to the quarterfinals of the New Japan Cup.
Goto picked up a victory over over Kyle Fletcher, finishing him off with the GTR. Tonga defeated Aaron Henare with the gunstun.

Got is one-half of the IWGP Tag Team Champions alongside YOSHI-HASHI while Tonga is the reigning NEVER Openweight Champion. Goto and Tonga will meet in the quarterfinals on March 12. Both men received a bye in the first round.
