Hirooki Goto retained the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Resurgence. However, he did so on a technicality.
The match's finish came when former champion Zach Sabre Jr pinned the champion with a bridge, but because both men's shoulders were down, it constituted a double pin and a successful retention on a draw.
Zack Sabre Jr. became incensed and immediately locked the referee in a front face lock, before disrespecting Goto and walking out.
