Hiroshi Tanahashi Issues Statement About Bushiroad Transferring All NJPW Shares To TV Asahi & CyberAgent

A statement from NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi about the transfer share.

For 14 years, Bushiroad was the parent company of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. On May 27th, Bushiroad announced that, following a Board of Directors meeting, it was decided to transfer all its shares in NJPW to TV Asahi and CyberAgent.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling President Hiroshi Tanahashi released a statement thanking Bushiroad for its role in NJPW’s growth. He added that the company will be looking to continue to grow as a subsidiary of TV Asahi with the backing of CyberAgent.

“To all New Japan Pro-Wrestling fans and everyone who has supported us

We are pleased to announce that Bushiroad Co., Ltd. will be transferring its shares in our company to TV Asahi Corporation and CyberAgent, Inc.

Since becoming our parent company in 2012, Bushiroad has played a pivotal role in the significant growth of New Japan Pro-Wrestling through various forms of support, including large-scale advertising campaigns. We are deeply grateful for their contributions.

To repay this kindness, we will now strive as a consolidated subsidiary of TV Asahi, with the support of CyberAgent, to achieve remarkable growth for New Japan Pro-Wrestling as a united company.

Our mission to create the best possible wrestling and provide entertainment for all of you remains unchanged. We sincerely ask for your continued support and encouragement.”

CyberAgent has a pro wrestling subsidiary called CyberFight, and under the umbrella are Pro Wrestling NOAH, DDT, and Tokyo Joshi Pro.

CyberAgent is also the parent company of ABEMA. ABEMA airs pro wrestling, and it was back in 2023 that WWE and ABEMA reached an agreement for ABEMA to exclusively broadcast WWE events in Japan. In May 2026, Netflix Vice President of Sports Gabe Spitzer did an interview and stated that later this year, WWE on Netflix is coming to Japan.
