Hiroshi Tanahashi Says He Had A ‘Very Productive’ Conversation With Tony Khan About AEW-NJPW Future

NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi made a surprise appearance at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, backing off Jon Moxley as he confronted Shota Umino.

Speaking to Pep S. Caro of Planeta Wrestling, Hiroshi Tanahashi reflected on his Forbidden Door experience.

“I had the honor of attending Forbidden Door this year and it was a tremendous show. Tony Khan and I sat down and had a very productive conversation; we talked about NJPW under the new direction of TV Asahi, as well as how we will continue to cooperate: AEW with its support to NJPW in the United States, and NJPW supporting AEW in its future plans in Japan. I think it is very important to increase the recognition of our respective fighters in the other country, and a solid talent exchange and cooperation system can benefit everyone,” he said.

IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji recently invited Tony Khan to attend the NJPW G1 show in Chicago.
