Hiroshi Tanahashi Says NJPW Will Continue Working With STARDOM, But Feels Both Should Be Aiming To Succeed Independently

Tanahashi comments on the NJPW-STARDOM relationship.

An extensive interview with New Japan Pro-Wrestling President Hiroshi Tanahashi was conducted by Proresu-TODAY.

During the chat, Tanahashi commented on NJPW’s relationship with STARDOM, as both are under the Bushiroad banner. He said they will continue working with STARDOM, but feels they should not be overlapping in the ring at the moment. He feels both promotions should be aiming to succeed independently.

“We will continue to work closely with our sister company, STARDOM, but in terms of the ring, we should not overlap at this time, and that each should aim for the highest level as an independent genre. New Japan Pro-Wrestling will continue to evolve as the organization that generates the most energy in the world. Please look forward to it.”

In October 2025, STARDOM and NJPW presented Historic X-Over in Guangzhou, China.

The IWGP Women’s Championship is in Syuri’s posession and she is with the STARDOM promotion. Syuri was also in possession of the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title, but dropped the belt to AEW talent Alex Windsor.
