Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada To Main Event, HENARE’s Return Confirmed For NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20

The main event is locked in.

January 4th, 2026, is the date of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 event at the Tokyo Dome. The promotion formally announced the show’s main event, and it will be Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement match. He’ll be facing off against Kazuchika Okada.

NJPW also confirmed that HENARE will be returning. He has not wrestled for New Japan since December 2024. In February 2025, Fightful Select reported that he could miss the entirety of 2025 due to a knee injury. HENARE is going to be in a 10-man tag team match alongside his United Empire stablemates.
