Hiroshi Tanahashi won the NJPW World TV Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18, defeating Zack Sabre Jr.

The finish saw Tanahashi reverse a pin from ZSJ, catching him in a pin of his own to score the victory.

After the bout, ZSJ showed a sign of respect to Tanahashi, handing him the title. Tanahashi addressed the crowd, thanking them for the support.

This marks the first reign as NJPW World TV Champion for Tanahashi. ZSJ held the title for one year and made 16 successful title defenses. Tanahashi is only the second man to hold the title. ZSJ became the first-ever NJPW World TV Champion at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 by defeating Ren Narita in a tournament final.
