Homicide Admits He Doesn't Love The Name 'Homicide,' Was Going To Be 'The Latin Terror'

Homicide is one of the most legendary Independent wrestlers of all time, working all across the country and for all the top Independent promotions.

Homicide will be honored twice this weekend, first on January 22 when he's inducted into the Independent Wrestling Hall of Fame and then against on January 23 when he challenges Jon Moxley for the GCW World Title.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Homicide admitted that he doesn't love the name that has brought him wrestling fame.

“At the time, I was going to be The Latin Terror, this crazy bootleg version of Sting and The Undertaker,” he said. “But we had America’s Most Wanted on one day, and someone said to me, ‘That’s it. Call yourself Homicide.’ I thought it would last, at most, for a couple weeks. Honestly, I don’t love the name. I’m a family man. I love to entertain wrestling fans, especially kids. They shouldn’t even know what that word means. My mother never liked the name, either. But when it comes to an older crowd, I’m a king of the underground scene. They know that Homicide is going to bring it.”

In the interview, Homicide said a conversation with Jacob Fatu helped him see the light and showed him he is where he should be.

He also expressed his gratitude towards MLW, GCW, and Jon Moxley, saying he is blessed. Previously, Homicide revealed Moxley was the one who "booked" him for AEW Rampage Grand Slam. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
