HOOK will defend the gold at AEW Battle of the Belts X.

On the April 6 episode of AEW Collision, HOOK and Chris Jericho beat Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty. Anthony Ogogo then joined Shane Taylor Promotions as he attacked Jericho and HOOK. Taylor, Moriarty, and Ogogo then defeated HOOK, Jericho, and Katsuyori Shibata on the April 10 episode of AEW Dynamite.

After the show, Tony Khan announced that HOOK would defend the FTW Championship against Shane Taylor at AEW Battle of the Belts on April 133.
