Hulk Hogan Passes Away At Age 71

Hulk Hogan has passed away at age 71.

TMZ first reported the news, saying that medics were dispatched to Hogan’s home with operators stating it was regarding a “cardiac arrest.”

On July 11, Hogan’s wife Sky issued a statement on her husband’s health, shutting down rumors that he was on his deathbed. She wrote, “He’s definitely not in a coma! His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage… none of those rumors are true. He’s been recovering from a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF), which is an intense surgery with a long and layered healing process.”

Hogan (Terry Bollea) is cited as one of the most legendary figures in wrestling history with the rise of Hulkamania during the 80s bringing a new boom period to wrestling. Hogan is a six-time WWE Champion and six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. In 1996, he helped reshape the business by turning heel and forming the NWO with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on two occasions, first as a solo star in 2005 and then as a member of the NWO in 2020.

Hogan also starred in films such as “Rocky III,” “No Holds Barred,” “Suburban Commando,” “Mr. Nanny,” and more. He was also part of the “Hogan Knows Best” reality show on VH1.

In 2015, Hogan was suspended from the WWE Hall of Fame for three years after he was caught using racist language on tape. Hogan called the comments a “speed bump” and “not who he was.”

Hogan last appeared on WWE TV at the Raw on Netflix premiere, where he was booed by the Los Angeles crowd. His latest ventures included Real American Beer, a sponsor of WWE, and Real American Freestyle, which is scheduled to hold its first event on August 30.

Fightful sends condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Hulk Hogan.
