In an interview with PWMania.com's Scott Mitchell, Hyan reflected on her time wrestling in Japan a few years ago. She noted that she had a "very unique experience" when she trained with Marvelous, as she was living in the dojo.

“It was so cool. I went there for Marvelous, but I got to do so much more there. It was a very different experience from maybe other girls who had gone there because I was living in the dojo and training there every day. We would do two training sessions a day. The morning was a lot of strength and conditioning, and then we would have lunch. After lunch, we did all the in-ring stuff," Hyan said.

Hyan went on to describe how she wrestled for Sendai Girls Pro-Wrestling, where she worked with Meiko Satomura and Aja Kong. She highlighted her match with Satomura and the way the veteran took care of her. Hyan also looked back on her tag team match with Hikaru Shida.

“I also got to wrestle for Sendai girls. I got to wrestle Meiko Satomura, tag with Aja Kong, and I also got to go to Pro Wrestling Wave as well. I remember she told me she would call our match in the ring. She took care of me. Same with Hikaru Shida in a tag match for Sendai Girls. She pulled me aside and made sure I was fully understanding everything and just checked in with me a lot to make sure I was okay," Hyan said.

Hyan also noted that she enjoyed seeing the different companies and their unique styles of wrestling. Later in the interview, Hyan made it clear that one of her top goals is to return to Japan. Specifically, she brought up the way women have started competing on NJPW STRONG, New Japan Pro-Wrestling's stateside brand. Hyan then emphasized that wrestling for NJPW is her ultimate objective right now.

"When I was there the first time, it was about three months. I had the pleasure of being fully immersed in the country, culture, and just seeing wrestling from the Japanese perspective. New Japan is the style of wrestling that I love. I never thought it would be a possibility because for so long they only booked men. The door of being a woman and wrestling for New Japan hadn’t been opened until about six months or so ago. They’re starting to use women on New Japan Strong in America. That is my ultimate goal right now," Hyan said.
