Ian Fidance Pays His Dues In AEW
Ian Fidance is the star of IAN DO: An Odd Guy Doin Odd Jobs.
On the latest episode of the series, Ian visited AEW and learned how things work before the show goes on the air.
First, Ian learns how to build a ring. After building the ring, Ian tests it out by bouncing a bit and running the ropes.
Next, he learns what it takes to go through a table as it’s revealed that nothing is done to the table outside of taking the plastic strip off so wrestlers don’t get cut up. He speaks with the props department and learns how some of the weapons are modified to “fit the product,” which means things like cutting off the rope on a kendo stick so it’s not as dense and makes a better sound. He learns how to construct a barbed wire bat using real barbed wire.
Next, he then goes behind the scenes to the production truck to learn how the show is put together. He learns how production puts things together and how quickly things move with graphics, how the mics work, and what camera needs to be the focus.
Finally, he was in wardrobe, where he learned how quickly gear is made and various requests wrestlers have made.
The next episode will feature everything coming together and Ian getting in the ring.
