Indus Sher Want To Showcase Indian Culture Without Being Excessive Or Offensive

Rinku Singh and Saurav Gurjar haven't found much consistency on NXT television since debuting in March, but the duo has big dreams.

Collectively known as Indus Sher, Singh rose to fame on "Million Dollar Arm" while Surjar was on the shows "Mahabharat" and "Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman." On WWE television, they want to make sure they are representing their Indian culture.

“It was a tough choice for us to decide on our characters and our attires. We wanted to showcase the Indian culture through them and what we wanted to portray was the character of a warrior. We did not want it to be excessive or offensive but at the same time, we wanted to it to clearly show that we are representing India,” said Saurav Gurjar in an interview with the Hindustan Times.

As far as WWE goals go, they hope to make history in the tag team division.

“Our goal is quite clear. We wanted to become the very first WWE Tag Team Champions from India and to defend the Title at WrestleMania in front of thousands of fans, making our country proud on the global stage,” said Rinku Singh.

Indus Sher last wrestled on the June 10 episode of NXT. Fightful Select reported in July that Indus Sher are a personal favorite of Matt Bloom, who has been a big proponent for them in the past. It was also noted that there was no significant heat on Gurjar for spoiling the result of Keith Lee vs. Adam Cole and that he apologized for the incident.
