The Intercontinental Championship tournament finals are set.
After a rough start to tonight’s episode of SmackDown, which saw Jeff Hardy and Elias be taken out of the semifinals, Sheamus came in to replace Hardy to face Daniel Bryan in the lone semifinal matchup of the night after Sheamus won a battle royal. Bryan ended up winning the match thanks to a distraction by the returning Hardy, advancing to the finals.
Bryan will now face AJ Styles to determine the next Intercontinental Champion and that match will take place on the June 12 episode of SmackDown, airing on FOX.

Originally, Bryan was supposed to face Hardy and Styles was supposed to face Elias tonight. However, Hardy was arrested when the show started after he was found with the smell of alcohol surrounding him while Elias was lying on the street, seemingly injured from Hardy’s car. Hardy would go on to return to SmackDown for the main event, costing Sheamus the match and then attacking him as the show went off the air.
