Israel Adesanya's Manager: WWE Is On His Bucket List, But I Can't See Him Doing It While Competing

Israel Adesanya is back on top of the UFC middleweight division after finally besting longtime rival Alex Pereira at UFC 287.

Adesanya has made his desire to one day be in WWE no secret and has even paid tribute to WWE legends in the past with his celebrations and walk outs.

Ahead of UFC 287, Adesanya tweeted out the famous "My Way" video package from WrestleMania 17 highlighting the feud between Steve Austin and The Rock. Less than a week after the tweet, WWE announced an agreement to sell the company to Endeavor and merge with UFC for a new publicly traded company.

"It's on his bucket list, for sure," Adesayna's manager Tim Simpson told ESPN. "He wants to [do a match]. He's been very disciplined. We've had acting opportunities turned down. He's been very disciplined about being an athlete. Because he knows that's all in his future. So, I can't see him doing it while he's still competing. But in the future? Definitely bucket list."

Simpson said that Adesanya had no knowledge of the sale or merger when he made the tweet, just that he used the video to parallel his feud with Pereira. Simpson noted that Adesanya spent the week before the fight watching old Royal Rumble and women's matches.
