Issei Onitsuka Opts To Retire After GLEAT Determines Him Guilty For Contract Violation, Onitsuka Still Required To Pay Fine

An official update on the status of Onitsuka.

Over the weekend of July 4th, GLEAT announced that they had indefinitely suspended Issei Onitsuka until an investigation into his alleged contract violation was complete.

An update on that situation was provided by GLEAT, and they determined that Onitsuka violated his contract.

The promotion decided to move forward with disciplinary actions. They suspended him from all athletic activities for one year. He’ll have to pay compensation for damages caused to the company, he’s been stripped of his G-INFINITY and G-RUSH Championships, in addition to being removed from his role as Chairman of GLEAT’s official fan club.

Onitsuka agreed to the suspension, but then subsequently went on to announce his retirement from in-ring competition. GLEAT respected his decision and agreed to let him go. He must still pay the fine.

GLEAT added that this ordeal is not being treated as a criminal matter. Onitsuka had been working for GLEAT since 2021.
